27. Belonging and Beyond with Becca Piastrelli
Becca Piastrelli writes about her life experiences, facilitates women’s gatherings virtually and in person, and is the host of the Belonging podcast. She teaches and speaks on the nature of belonging and runs retreats to help women reconnect with their rooted sense of self. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area (soon to be Hudson Valley, NY) with her husband, child, two cats, and five chickens, where she gardens, cooks, mothers, and gathers with the ebb and flow of the seasons.
I am so inspired by and deeply love Becca’s work. This conversation is full of wisdom and nourishment for the times that we find ourselves in today.
In this episode, we discuss:
Seasonal, earth-based living and how Becca lives seasonally in her everyday life and work
Rites of passage and the 3 phases that make up a rite of passage
Becca gives us practices and rituals to honor rites of passage in our lives
Belonging and community care and how Becca see them existing (and not existing) in today’s world
Motherhood, specifically some pivotal points in Becca’s mothering journey and some wisdom she has gleaned from recently becoming a mother
Becca and I discuss and reference episode 96 of her podcast, Belonging, with Ariella Daly and Megan McGuire, to listen to this episode visit beccapiastrelli.com/ancestral-mothering
