41. Amplifying Indigenous Wisdom and Motherhood with Vivien Vilela

Vivien Vilela (she/her) was born and raised in Brazil and has been initiated in ancient healing traditions by indigenous elders from South, Central, and North America. She dedicates her life to her spiritual studies and the preservation of indigenous culture. Vivien is the co-founder of Aniwa and The Boa Foundation.

Vivien is someone I’ve personally looked up to for years so sitting with her in conversation was a huge honor and gift.

In this episode, Vivien and I discuss:

  • Vivien’s background and what brought her to her work with indigenous elders

  • Why she feels indigenous wisdom is important for the times we’re living in today

  • Some of the major challenges Vivien has faced while following her intuition and dream of creating The Boa Foundation and Aniwa and how she moved through them

  • Colonization, reciprocity, and ancestral/generational healing

  • Motherhood and how Vivien balances motherhood and spiritual practice

  • The spiritual and healing practices that have been most supportive to Vivien on her motherhood journey

You can find Vivien’s work with Aniwa, including the upcoming Aniwa Gathering happening from June 8th to June 11th in Big Bear CA, at aniwagathering.com, at aniwa.co, and on IG @aniwa.co and @vivilela

You can find Vivien’s work with The Boa Foundation at theboafoundation.org and on IG @theboafoundation

I hope you love listening to this beautiful and wise conversation as much as Vivien and I loved having it! If you do love this episode, if it nourishes you in some way, please subscribe to the pod, leave a review and rating, and share it with a friend, thank you!
