31. Shame, Self-Compassion, and Super Small Goals with Waverly Davis

Welcome to the end of the first season of A Wave Away. I launched this podcast in April 2022 and she’ll be a year old this coming spring! It’s time to take a break this winter, to rest, relax, and make space for new visions. I will be back in February 2023 with many great episodes and interviews.

In this episode, I discuss:

  • The new shame that has cropped up in my life around a health challenge

  • Self-compassion and how we can lean into treating ourselves better

  • Negative self-talk how we can change the narrative of how we speak to ourselves

  • Slowing down, finding simple self-care, and learning to care for ourselves in the same way we care for those we love

  • The practice of setting super small goals — goals is a loaded word for me, so I’m redefining what goals means for me and focusing on setting super small, doable goals

  • Prayer as a practice for connection with the divine not just for manifesting our desires
